Power and Authority

Some teach that the new spiritual man is to be silent before the blasphemies of deceit from Satan and his servants. Surely we are not to be slanderous before Satan as would natural man in his foolishness, however the Word of God given the new man in the Lord that seeks wisdom is a word of power and authority. Even before the blasphemies of Satan and his servants; when called upon and in the Lords will, obedience to the commands of the Lord are that we need speak out with authority as did Archangel Michael. Michael when in dispute with Satan over the body of Moses was not slanderous or silent, but said with authority "the Lord rebuke you."

Are you able to discern the difference between these two following verse's, very different commands often missused by the immature and natural man, unaware of the power and authority within the church of Christ?
Rom 2:3 "So when you, a mere man, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God's judgment?"
1 Cor 2:15-16 "The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment: "For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.

As new spiritual man in the work of the Lord, we will receive power and authority from the Lord to accomplish the work he has predestined.
Matt 28:17-20 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

The Lord has given those who he has chosen both the power and authority they will need.
Acts 1:8 "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you..."

Christ warns us that we are not to use this power and authority unwisely, but according to His will and purpose.
Luke 10:19-20 "I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."

Some will wonder and doubt whose power and authority is being observed, yet as a servant would speak for their master, we will give our Lord all the praise and glory.
Acts 3:12-13 "Men of Israel, why does this surprise you? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?"
Acts 4:6-7 "They had Peter and John brought before them and began to question them: "By what power or what name did you do this?"

This will be power and authority to overcome all infliction or imposition upon man, whether natural or spiritual. And to spread Gods word to a people living in darkness.
Acts 10:37-38 "You know what has happened throughout Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John preached- how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him."

This is the task and commission the Lord has given us, to rescue those in sin from darkness. In this task the Lord calls us to be the light and salt in the world, a light for those who are lost, salt to preserve that which belongs to God.
Acts 26:17-18 "I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me."
1 Cor 4:19-20 "For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power."

The task we are given by the Lord will bring us into spiritual warfare upon this world, these will be spiritual wickedness as souls of this dark world, and Satan with his dark angels within the spiritual realm of the air.
2 Cor 10:3-5 "The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."

Although we are weak, our Lord is strong.
2 Cor 12:8-9 "But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me."

We are not to be faint hearted or double minded, all that our Lord has promised he will fulfill, our victory is in the Lord.
Eph 1:17-21 "...so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come."

Neither Satan nor his dark angels and natural man of sin are to be given that which belongs to God. We will not be defenseless before such, the power we have from the Lord is great and will overcome all the power of the enemy.
Rom 8:37-39 "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

The victory will be the Lords, and we will have served in His victory.
Matt 18:18 "I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."
