Inerrant Word of God

Inerrant Word of God
by DeWayne E. Benson

Experts say there are chronological¸ historical¸ and rendering of similar events in error within the Bible; and no doubt within the logo's by man this is true. In the course of history even theologian's have said there are errors in proper transliteration or translation of Gods' word from other languages¸ not the least is that there are no original records remaining of the inspired writings.

Then how can a Christian have confidence in the Bible¸ assurance that the Bible is the inerrant and inspired word of God? This is easy to answer¸ understand however God gave warning about those who would change a jot or tittle (a minor detail) within the text of the Bible. God does not place warnings in the Bible without reason¸ yet despite this be assured¸ it is the living Word of God (Spiritual) that is infallible and inerrant.

First it is important to understand that both the Old and New Testament are of Hebrew origin¸ this includes Hebrew historical and geographic perspective¸ also Hebrew rendition of events using Hebrew custom and calendar. Contextual errors in fact exist as anomalies of numeric values between verses describing same content, and may have occurred when changing from this origin of Hebrew oral into various transcription. In this context Jesus used parables or illustration sentient or related Hanakh (Old Testament) of this era for understanding¸ in this it is a wise to understand the teachings of Christ before attempting to fully understand the writings within the first covenant.

Some may believe learning Hebrew and Greek along with other languages of this period in history would better enable the reading of the original languages in the Bible¸ yet of the Biblical we have today¸ there is perhaps no other book on earth by man that is documented in so many historical records that do exist. This includes documents not only of the Hebrew or Jewish peoples¸ including the Greek and other manuscripts¸ but of other kingdoms and historians of that era and those that followed.

Most important¸ the Bible in it's entirety for understanding will not be found in the logos of language only¸ as the inspired word assures¸ it is taught or inspired by Gods Spirit and by the Holy Spirit is spiritually discerned¸ here also is included the gifts of the Preacher or Teacher edifying with Gods word. This truth frightens many leaders within the church¸ this might in error convey acceptance of any interpretation from the word being Scripturally correct¸ when in truth all interpretation's must be in agreement with every word inspired of God. This must also include the church who also must find agreement as the body and spirit of the church¸ although even within the church today is accepted much error. Be that as it may¸ the word of God is taught by the Spirit of God and by the Holy Spirit spiritually discerned; without the Holy Spirit we would not have the mind of the Lord who searches our heart and gives understanding as needed.

Here then is the reason you can be totally assured¸ assured despite all that may be said by learned men. God has said His Word is spiritually discerned. Gods' word is not only the printed logo's¸ the Bible is a living word¸ it is Spiritual food for the soul and living waters that quenches thirst everlasting. God discerns this inerrant word and places it not only in mans mind¸ but also in the heart¸ know this as the place within the new man or new spiritual man. The Bible tells us that man will not live by bread alone¸ but by every word of God¸ commanding that not only some, but every spirit be tested against the word of God that we know as the Bible within.

Then have confidence in the Word of God that is the Bible. Understand the word of God is meant even for the secular man¸ although they may have hardened their heart against God, to whatever extent having no understanding. Whoever searches within the word of the Bible will find truth¸ nothing is impossible for God. To those who prayerfully search the inerrant word¸ God promises they will receive His wisdom and knowledge. This is the inspired word of God¸ the living word of God¸ not sought out of context and our own limited abilities¸ but from every word of God finding inerrant and infallible truth.

In the Old Testament¸ the man of faith is called the Upright and Righteous man of God. In the New Testament these are men who because of the word come seeking repentance and salvation through Christ. These also through faith receive grace and the Holy Spirit as deposit¸ the Spirit of the Lord then being with their spirit. All that transpires between the spirit of man from the Spirit of God is infallible¸ meaning that no one has greater power and authority than God¸ and no one may change the Word of God that is given to the new man through the Holy Spirit in spiritual discernment. And here is another truth that church leaders have concern regarding the immature Christian¸ not every word of God is found in the Bible.

Be warned however concerning the heart that becomes hardened¸ for there is a point beyond which it has lost all receptiveness to the word of God. This is described best in Acts 28:26-27 "'Go to this people and say, "You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving." For this people's heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears¸ and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes¸ hear with their ears¸ understand with their hearts and turn¸ and I would heal them."

Here then is the spiritual realm in which God speaks to us with His word¸ but be warned of the heart becoming hardened as stone and rejecting both the word and love of God. A man whose heart has become this hard can no longer hear the Lord¸ scripture calls such a person as spiritually dead¸ this we are told in 1 Cor 2:14-15 "The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God¸ for they are foolishness to him and he cannot understand them¸ because they are spiritually discerned."

The important thing to remember is this promise, 2 Cor 3:4-6 "Such confidence as this is ours through Christ before God. Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God. He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant- — not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life." The letter is the text of law, but the Word is Christ, the Spirit that gives life abundantly.

Satan with his dark angels and followers have had many decades and generations to deceive those who may be led astray¸ however those who God calls the righteous and obedient cannot be taken from the Lord. Nor can that be stolen which the Lord has given to them and they guard within their heart. For every event within life God has provided a way to defeat the deceiver. Indeed even these spirits must submit to the new spiritual man¸ scripture assures the new spiritual man that if he resists the devil¸ the devil will flee from them. Then be assured¸ if God is for us who can stand against us¸ and Gods' living word is inerrant and will live within us.
